New Hi-Fi magazine launches

THE BRITISH AUDIO-VISUAL DEALERS ASSOCIATION

Led by Paul Messenger (Editor) and Martin Colloms (Technical Editor), HIFICRITIC is a new stereo audio magazine put together by a group of highly experienced freelance hi-fi journalists.

The motivation behind the launch is to bring back a level of intelligent critical comment to hi-fi writing and reviewing which we believe has become increasingly rare in recent years.

A crucial element in our approach is that the magazine will be entirely funded by its reader/subscribers. There will be no manufacturer or distributor product advertising, as we believe this may adversely affect the objectivity of review writing.

HIFICRITIC is a bi-monthly print magazine in full-colour, backed up by an extensive and informative website. Issue 1, dated January/February 2007 has been published, for worldwide distribution by airmail. Subscriptions will cost £50 per annum/6 issues; see website www.HIFICITRIC.COM for further details.

Paul Messenger and Martin Colloms will be backed up by an experienced team of writers, and the content will cover a generous mix of features and reviews on equipment and music.

This independent editorial team intends to strike a blow against the dumbing down of stereo hi-fi journalism, by delivering definitive, well researched reporting for an intelligent international readership.
