Live from Abbey Road
Live From Abbey Road
B&W sponsors ground breaking music TV show on Channel 4
Bowers & Wilkins is thrilled to announce becoming the UK sponsor for the innovative music show, Live from Abbey Road. The first B&W-sponsored episode will air on More4 with repeats showing on Monday 29th (Channel 4) and Wednesday 31st (More4).
B&W’s relationship with Abbey Road Studios began in the 1970s and we consider it a huge honour to be the reference speaker system throughout the Abbey Road studio complex.
Inspired by the 75th Anniversary of the world famous Abbey Road studios, Live from Abbey Road is a twelve episode sixty minute music TV series independently produced for a worldwide audience and showcases the highest quality global talent. The overall aim of the show is to capture performances that “sound like an album and look like a movie”.
Each sixty minute show features three artists. There is no studio audience and no host, but features each musician speaking about their work, and showing behind the scenes footage of the musicians working on and leading up to the performance. Shot in high-definition with 35mm lenses in the intimacy of the famous Studios 1 & 2 at Abbey Road, the recordings are designed to look like succinct music movies, giving a personal insight direct into the mystical world of music and its makers.
The impressive list of artists who have recorded performances for Live From Abbey Road bear out the producers' commitment to displaying the cream of musical talent, whatever the genre, from around the world. It includes A-list artists such as Paul Simon, Dr John, David Gilmour plus newer artists like Corrine Bailey Rae, The Kooks, Snow Patrol, Razorlight and Kasabian to name just a few.
Peter Van Hooke and Michael Gleason, producers of Live From Abbey Road, have received tremendous support from the music industry, which recognises the value of this new music TV series for its artists, especially as it will be broadcast internationally.
B&W 800 Series loudspeakers were used throughout the recording, mixing and mastering of Live from Abbey Road.
